Along similar lines, I've often found that the act of writing about some problem I've been working on forces me to clarify my thining on it and fully flesh out some thoughts that I was kind of shying away from before. If you're just thinking thoughts in your head, it's easy to skirt around the unpleasant ones, but when you have to put it into words, it forces you to confront them.

Yeah, very true. I think that's what I'm finding in general. The less you try to do in your head, the better.
